Virginia's Wine Industry: James' Interview on Virginia Public Radio

Virginia is the seventh largest wine-producing state in the US with 200 wineries, and a recent episode of “Virginia Conversations” on Virginia Public Radio focused on discussing the state’s wine industry. Having James weigh in with his expertise as an international wine critic, the hour-long program takes a look at Virginia’s viticulture, as well as how its wines measure up.

Having recently been to Virginia to taste, James found its wines to be very European, in the sense that they’re balanced without high alcohol, and have fresh acidity. The state’s wines would go well with food too — quite different than most wines from California, for example. As for the viticulture, James would liken Virginia’s more so to France than Italy.
