In August, James had a fun Zoom tasting with Antoine Gimbert, Export Director of Domaines Delon. They tasted the Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2002 and 2007.
For James, it’s always great to taste old wines with producers and get their views on past vintages. The 2002 and 2007 vintages were challenging ones, but the wines from the second-growth estate are reasonably priced and now are showing signs of mellowing and revealing some of the classic Bordeaux traits of tobacco, tea and wet forest floor.
