Search For The Almost 3,500 Italian Wines We Tasted This Year!

tastings_italia

This year JamesSuckling.com tasted more than 16,000 wines and almost one-fourth were Italian wines. We have already posted about 1,500 tasting notes from Italy so far, and today we are posting close to 2,000 more. Most of the wines were reviewed blind in our tasting room in Tuscany. You can find all them now in the search bar at the top of the site.

The wine releases this year included many excellent bottles, particularly the 2015 Super Tuscans, 2013 Barolos, 2016 whites from Alto Adige, a whole range of vintages from Campania and Friuli, 2013 Amarones and many 2014s from Sicily, particularly Etna. But there were so many outstanding finds. In fact, we rated about 80% of the Italian wines we tasted 90 points or more.

We are so excited each year to review Italian wines. It’s impressive to consider all the new producers and ever-improving wines from simple Lambruscos to the greatest single-vineyard Brunellos. It’s never been a better time to drink vino italiano.

Please lookup the wines of your choice on the site whether by wine name, winery, appellation, vineyard or vintage. If you want to make a name-specific search, we suggest you use parentheses to tell the search engine to do so. Here is an example: “Antinori Toscana Tignanello.”

Stay tuned for short and interesting tasting reports on the best whites of Italy, this year’s Barbaresco releases, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and the issues surrounding the category, 2013 Brunello, and, of course, our Top 100 Italian Wines of 2017.
