Producer Spotlight: VIK
Founded in 2006 by the Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik, this impressive futuristic winery was designed by internationally recognized Chilean architect Smiljan Radic. VIK also offers a super-modern, luxury hotel and restaurant on site. Today, the wine production is under the supervision of the oenologist Cristian Vallejo, who worked at various wineries before but most notable, Château Margaux. Located in the magnificent Valle de Cachapoal in Millahue, the winery approaches winemaking with a holistic vision of a vineyard-to-bottle philosophy that shines through in every bottle. The namesake wine Vik is their top wine, which is made with cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, syrah, merlot and cabernet franc. This looks to be an icon wine in the making for Chile.
VIK is a frequent participating producer at JamesSuckling.com events. For a chance to taste VIK’s top-scoring wines, such as the ones listed below, check out our upcoming event Great Wines of the Andes USA 2018. Get tickets today and drink great wines!
