My Article: Yes Mr. Prime Minister!

My children, Jack, 17, and Isabel, 13, just got back from meeting British Prime Minister David Cameron. He is staying at the Tuscan wine estate of Luca Sanjust, the owner of Petrolo, which makes such wines as the Sangiovese/Merlot blend Torrione and the pure Merlot Galatrona. Isabel was painting with the owner of Petrolo’s wife, Sabina Mirri, a famous painter in Italy.

The international press has been full of reports of Cameron and his family relaxing in the vineyards of Tuscany. I hear they are spending most of their time playing tennis and enjoying the pool next to Villa Petrolo. I think the Prime Minister prefers the 2008 Galatrona to the 2008 Torrione. He has good taste. It’s one of my top wines in Tuscany!

I asked Isabel what she thought of the PM, and she said, “He is very nice!” Isabel sang for him last December during The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Here is the video.

Jack thought he was very polite and played a good game of tennis.

Good to have the Prime Minster here in Tuscany!
