The family-run winery in the town of La Morra has been making wines for more than 30 years, but it is only in recent vintages that it has been making world-class wines. The extremely high quality of the Bosco family’s single vineyard La Serra Barolos underlines this.
Facing southeast at an altitude of about 400 meters, the wines are selected from best grapes from this prime single vineyard. The recent vintages of the wines are consistently rated 90 points or above by James. The 2010 vintage was a supreme, plump red, described by James as “juicy and rich.”
The reds are aged a few months in small barrels but spend most of their nearly three years of maturation in large old Slavonian oak. This is a soulful family-run winery with a historical touch in its modern winemaking.
