Mike D's Article: 2002 Henri Boillot Corton Charlemagne

At nine years of age, this big boyeee is still an infant. I’ve been following this one for a bit, and while the color has budged from pale straw to slight gold, it is still not giving much away, like it was a few years ago. Time to put this one deep in the cellar and re-visit it every couple of years. I saved a glass for the following night and 24 hours later, while it lost a little freshness, it was completely intact and balanced. This is gonna have the longevity of the most esteemed Corton chucks, like Coche Dury. Although backwards tonight, this is a wine that will easily rate high into the 90-point spectrum, but tonight it wasn’t there….yet. 92 points. Find the wine.
