Media Release: Australian wine writer Nick Stock joins JamesSuckling.com
Renowned Australian wine writer Nick Stock is joining forces with international wine critic James Suckling to contribute on the wines of Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
Nick will be adding thousands of his existing tasting notes to JamesSuckling.com, writing a weekly blog, adding regular tasting reports covering Australia, New Zealand and Europe and contributing video content.
Further to this, the two wine aficionados are excited to announce two events they are co-curating – ‘Great Wines of Australia’ and ‘Great Wines of New Zealand’ – to be held in the second half of 2014 in Hong Kong and New York. Staged in partnership with luxury magazine group Asia Tatler, these events will follow in the footsteps of the large and small consumer events that JamesSuckling.com has held globally bringing the wine experience to life for its readers.
Nick and James have spent the past few years working alongside each other at Australian wine shows and tasting together, and will continue to meet up around the world to collaborate on special tastings, videos and reports.
James said Nick was one of the best wine critics he knew and was pleased to have him joining the team. “We share many of the same ideas and tastes about wine and life in general,” James said. “Expect to see Nick in the vineyards in Europe in the future and also in the United States. His palate is fine tuned to great, balanced European wines just as it is to #realaussiewines.”
Nick said he was proudly stepping into this new role with JamesSuckling.com, a role that marked the start of exciting times ahead. “I’m thrilled to be working with someone of James’ calibre. He is a force in the world of wine commentary and criticism, he is completely driven to find great wines wherever they may be and his reach into the world of wine collectors and aficionados is far and wide,” Nick said.
“The events we have planned add another layer to the excitement. And whilst my brief is to cover great wine from all around the world, my in depth coverage of both Australia and New Zealand will give the great wines and great producers from these countries a significant boost in terms of global reach.”
