James Suckling 100 Points unviersal wine glasses
were seen in the movie.
James’s 100 Points universal wine glass, created in collaboration with renowned French crystal maker Lalique, features in Emmy-nominated filmmaker Victor Levin’s latest movie “5 to 7”, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 3.
The glass from the Lalique James Suckling 100 Points Collection, which showcases a “U”shaped bowl and a distinctive frosted stem is a true embodiment of modern design, precise craftsmanship and utility. The glass can be seen in a scene where the lead male character Brian Bloom – played by Anton Yelchin – blind tastes wines with Arielle Pierpont – played by Bérénice Marlohe – in a chic wine shop in New York.
The use of the glasses along with a host of Lalique creations are central to the luxurious and cinematic setting, which enhances the production and visuals of the film. “In ‘5 to 7’, we wanted to make it clear that the Pierponts were wealthy. But wealth was not enough. They also needed to have a high taste level. And beyond that, they needed to have confidence in their own taste,” explains Levin, the Emmy-nominated producer of the hit TV drama show Mad Men.
“They needed to show in their tableware, stemware, vases, centerpieces, etc. that they were unafraid to make strong choices. Their things simply could not be safe or cliché. Lalique, every piece of which makes a strong, confident aesthetic statement, was perfect for the Pierponts, and made just the impression we sought,” he continues.
