The Great Wines World Miami event, hosted by JamesSuckling.com, concluded with resounding success: with 6,032 members of the wine trade and passionate wine aficionados in attendance, this year’s gathering stands as the largest event ever hosted by JamesSuckling.com, marking a significant milestone.

Taking place on February 29 and March 1 in South Beach Miami, the event was eagerly anticipated by attendees from both North and South America, drawing participants not only from Miami and 37 states across the United States but also from other countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

Featuring an impressive lineup of 382 producers representing many of the world’s best wine regions, attendees had the opportunity to access and taste a selection of more than 900 wines curated by James Suckling and his team of editors over the two days. All wines scored a minimum of 92 points by James Suckling and his team of editors.

The event showcased wines from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, South Africa, Uruguay, the United States, Canada, and New Zealand, creating a diverse tasting landscape.

Highlights included 45 prestigious châteaux from Bordeaux, a wide selection of Italian wines including Barolo, Chianti Classico, and Brunello, with dozens of producers from Piedmont and Tuscany, and more than 30 esteemed producers from the United States, including the No. 1 wine on the Top 100 Wines of the USA 2023 list.

The event also featured seven prestige Champagne houses and eight other sparkling wine producers. Attendees were eager to sample the JamesSuckling.com Wine of the Year 2023, Laurent-Perrier Champagne Grand Siecle Grand Cuvee N.26 NV. Additionally, dozens of other wineries and wines featured on JamesSuckling.com’s esteemed Top 100 lists of 2023 were available to taste, including the Argentina Wine of the Year 2023 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc Gualtallary Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard 2019, the Chilean Wine of the Year 2023 Seña Valle de Aconcagua 2021, and the Italian Wine of the Year: the Damilano Barolo Cannubi Riserva 1752 2016.

Singer-songwriter and JamesSuckling.com music creator Surahn Sidhu once again provided the perfect soundtrack to the tasting, adding to the vibrant atmosphere with his live DJ set.

The Great Wines World Miami 2024 event closed with great success, and James Suckling and producers look forward to returning in 2025 with a new edition.
