Great Wines of Italy USA marks ‘most exciting’ Italian Wine Event in North America

More than 250 of Italy’s top wine producers provided what was one of the most exciting events of the JamesSuckling.com calendar highlighting the Great Wines of Italy USA as the largest and most prestigious Italian wine event in North America.

Great Wines of Italy USA 2020 saw about 6,000 attendees enjoy more than 500 wines poured by producers from Italy’s finest wine regions. This was the biggest event series in JamesSuckling.com history, touring through six cities across the United States, including the very first JamesSuckling.com Grand Tasting event in Dallas, Texas.

Wine lovers and trade were equally eager to taste this lineup of exceptional wines at the tasting despite the current upheaval in world. And who could blame them – on show were five ‘perfect’ 100-point wines that the JamesSuckling.com tasting team tasted over the course of the past year, including the winner of Wine of the Year, the exceptional Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne 2015.

“Over the past year I rated with the JamesSuckling.com tasting team almost 7,000 Italian wines and discovered some absolutely stunning bottles. It was our biggest tasting ever and highlights how many great wines are being made in Italy at the moment. It is the most exciting time for Italian wines in my career as a wine critic, which has lasted almost 40 years!” said James Suckling, CEO and editor at JamesSuckling.com.

The six-city event series, which also featured music from superstar DJ Surahn Sidhu, is another mark of growth in the JamesSuckling.com event calendar, coming just a few weeks after the debut of Great Wines of the World in Miami, Florida.

“It shows the appreciation and passion people in this region have for great wines,” said Suckling. “People come from all over the US, but also from the surrounding region and Latin America too, so the enthusiasm for great wine is really great here.”

Please check the JamesSuckling.com website and newsletters for information about upcoming events. As of now, the next event planned will be Great Wines of the Andes in the United States, later in the year. Watch this space for details.
