Great Wines of Italy Hong Kong concluded with two days and eight sessions of sold-out tastings, seeing more than 1,200 members of the wine trade as well as wine lovers at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong on Nov. 17 & 18. The enthusiasm from the market clearly shows that Hong Kong remains one of the world’s top wine centers.
The annual grand tasting in Hong Kong, which began in 2012 and is one of the few wine events in the world that continued to take place in a modified format over the past two years, remains one of the largest and most prestigious Italian wine events in Asia.
The 2022 edition saw an excellent lineup of 200 outstanding wines spanning all the major wine regions of Italy, and focusing on the latest market releases. Attendees were able to taste a wider range of wines, including the much-praised Barolo 2016s – heralded by James as some of the best of his career of 40 years – as well as Brunello 2016 Riservas, another great vintage, and 2019 Super Tuscans.
