Cannubi Poll Results

Following the recent court ruling in Barolo on the famous hill of Cannubi in favour of allowing all local producers to use “Cannubi” on their labels (click here for James’ blog on it), last week we asked you: ‘Should all producers on the hill be allowed to use the name “Cannubi”‘?

We ran the JamesSuckling.com full-length documentary, “Cannubi: A Vineyard Kissed By God”, for free, and let viewers make their own minds up.

In total, 3,558 people watched the movie. 74% of you said you “No”, voting that not all local producers should be allowed to use the name “Cannubi” on their labels. 26% of you said “Yes”, voting that all local producers should be allowed to use the name “Cannubi” on their labels.

Given the movie itself doesn’t take sides, though James did in his blog, it was interesting to see such a clear leaning – and this also came across in the comments. Then again, perhaps it just means that people supported the winery who wines they enjoy drinking the most, and so the side with the most wineries – those who say “no” – came out on top! In the end, it is about enjoying what Cannubi has to offer, and, as James points out, the recent decision may not change very much at all.

The poll is now closed but the movie can still be watched by clicking here where you can also read James’ blog and the comments made by various subscribers.
