Bordeaux Confidential 2021: A chance to taste en primeurs in Asia

Up to 600 people are expected to attend the Bordeaux Confidential week.

The Bordeaux Confidential 2020 tasting week in Hong Kong starts today, and will welcome 400 wine trade professionals and nearly 100 consumer wine lovers through the doors of James Suckling Wine Central over the course of the week.

The tasting sessions will feature 120 of the most popular wines produced by 85 wineries from France’s premier wine region. These 2020 en primeur tastings offer a unique chance in Asia to taste the not-yet-released Bordeaux vintage before its “mise en bouteille”. The wines have all been air-freighted from Bordeaux overnight to ensure maximum freshness.

The tasting week also offers a great chance even for those not in Hong Kong to learn about these wines online. The Bordeaux Confidential guidebook features profiles of all participating wineries, as well as their wines, with ratings from JamesSuckling.com (all ratings are ranges, given the youth of these wines). We have also continued our popular series of video tasting notes from producers, which give unprecedented access to the winemakers and chateaux owners, describing the wines at the event.
