Best of Bordeaux 2019: Top 10 St.-Emilion wines

The picturesque town of St.-Emilion, where a number of outstanding 2019 wines were produced.

With the Bordeaux 2019 en primeur campaign now under way many people are wondering which producers are worth buying in the futures market. See our special report on the Top 10 Value Buys from Bordeaux 2019 to get our own analysis on wines that offer outstanding quality at great prices. 

But if you’re just looking for superb quality whatever the price, St.-Emilion has produced many stellar bottles worth considering. This is our second appellation-focused report from the Bordeaux 2019 tastings (see the first report on St.-Estephe here).

James conducted several Zoom tastings with St.-Emilion producers and came away impressed with many of the wines, especially those from the bigger names such as Figeac and Angelus. Five St.-Emilion producers scored 98-99 points, highlighting not only the quality of the wines coming out of this popular commune, but also the quality of the 2019 vintage as a whole.
