But if you’re just looking for superb quality whatever the price, St.-Emilion has produced many stellar bottles worth considering. This is our second appellation-focused report from the Bordeaux 2019 tastings (see the first report on St.-Estephe here).
James conducted several Zoom tastings with St.-Emilion producers and came away impressed with many of the wines, especially those from the bigger names such as Figeac and Angelus. Five St.-Emilion producers scored 98-99 points, highlighting not only the quality of the wines coming out of this popular commune, but also the quality of the 2019 vintage as a whole.
