I remember drinking bottles of this wine in the 1980s when I lived in Paris and went to starred restaurants. It was always a great value on the wine lists. (I wish Michelin-starred restaurants weren’t so expensive now. But that’s another column.) Anyway, I had this the other day in Montreal and I loved the subtle bread dough, apple tart and lemon aromas to the wine with just a hint of vanilla cream. It was full, bright and stylish. It was really Burgundy with that straw and cooked apple undertone. 92 points. Find the wine.
