I found this in my small cellar in magnum and I was curious to see how it was doing considering it was produced from a wet and cold vintage. I remember the summer of 2002 and I barely ate outside at all! It was a lot like this year. I hope it doesn’t continue the same way in 2011. However, this wine was a knockout. The Maremma was less wet in 2002 than other Tuscan appellations. This wine had very subtle aromas of sliced plums, minerals and rosemary with a medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a long caressing finish. It was so delicate and beautiful. What a surprise. Drink now. 93 points. Find the wine.
