1997 Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva

I have been trying a number of bottles in the last month of 1997 Chianti Classico Riservas. Some people think they don’t age well and that you have to trade up to Brunello to find ageworthy Sangiovese. But this beautiful wine from Riecine proves otherwise. Winemaker Sean O’Callaghan crushed here. The wine shows beautiful aromas of plums and cherry jam, yet perfumed and fresh. Full and very clean, it focuses on the clean fruit and bright acidity. 92 points. Find the wine.
