The vintage of 2017 was a mixed bag for Napa. Despite the wickedly hot weather during the growing season that culminated in a devastating fire in early October, the finest wines of this vintage are fresh and elegant.
Against the odds, many wines show class and restraint, a rarity for Napa nowadays. We tasted the wines in Napa in January, and were prepared for overripe fruit and wines affected by smoke taint. But our concern was misplaced. The best cabernets were soothing, if not surprising. Despite a loss in volume, many wines from this vintage still reward every dollar you care to pay.
Below are 10 of the best value Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon wines from the 2017 vintage, all around $75 or less.
