WINEMAKER MARK HAISMA ON BURGUNDY’S 2022 VINTAGE [VIDEO]

Associate Editor Claire Nesbitt chats with winemaker Mark Haisma, who moved to Burgundy from Australia in 2009. He now produces his own wines in the Cote d’Or both from his own vineyards and from bought fruit. In this video you can hear his thoughts on the upcoming 2022 vintage and how he compares it to recent vintages.

"I'm really pleased with '22," he said. "I think we've got a super-elegant, refined vintage coming in contradiction, I think, to what a lot of people were believing was going to come when we had those very hot conditions through the year. But with some very good management of the groundwork and the canopy, I think we've made a vintage of great refinement, great elegance and some very beautiful wines."
