Last week was perhaps the world’s first Bordeaux En Primeur 2019 Zoom tasting! It was certainly the first for James. The samples of Château Croix de Labrie were jet-freighted from Bordeaux and James tasted them a few days later with owners Axelle and Pierre Courdurié. James was impressed with the precision and focus of the wines, both white and red. He was surprised how together the wines were despite only having been in barrel a few months. This, he said, was a good sign for the quality of the fledging vintage. Check out the edited video of the tasting session. There’s lots of good information on the 2019 vintage in general. James was happy to finally taste some 2019s as he has been tasting barrel samples from Bordeaux every year since the 1982 vintage.
