James met with winemaker Ferruccio Grimaldi of Giacomo Grimaldi to taste his 2005, 2006 and 2000 vintages. The Grimaldi winery produces amazing reds in the historic villages of Barolo, Novello and Monforte d'Alba. James was really impressed by the 2000 vintage of Le Coste, a vintage he had already tasted in the past but that really surprised him nonetheless. The Le Coste vineyard has been owned by the Grimaldi family since the 1930s. Originally, the wines made from Le Coste vineyard were blended with those of the legendary Cannubi vineyards.
