James harvested his 828 clone of pinot noir on March 7 at his small vineyard in Martinborough, New Zealand. He was helped by his niece, Ji-eun Kim, who worked four harvests in Napa Valley, as well as a team of pickers from the Solomon Islands and Ben and Helen Masters. Helen is the winemaker of Ata Rangi, where the grapes are sorted, fermented and aged before bottling. Ben manages James’s estate. Check out the action here.
