Cordero Di Montezemolo: 2007 Barolo (Part 1)

Alberto Cordero Di Montezemolo is one of a number of the younger generation in Barolo who is making more precise and fruit-driven wine in his region. His family estate near the town of La Morra makes three Barolos each vintage; I tend to always prefer the Monfalletto, which seems to have a more intense core of fruits on the palate.

Click here to see the second part of this visit where I did an interview with Alberto about the outstanding quality of the 2007 vintage.

James can you develop the ability to taste the falvors in a wine? Like Forest Floor, Tar, Rose Petal, ect. ... or is this like singing you are born with the talent? I drink wine almost every day of the year, and I can tell if somehting is good, dry, acidic, fruity, tanic, sweet, heavy, light but it is very difficult for me to get the falvors so many experts describe. IS there a way to educate the pallate, I spend alot of time on the nose first before tasting and that has helped but only marginally. Any adivce?
