This is the last in a series of four videos with Piedmont’s Luca Currado of Vietti, the great name in Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera. I tasted a small range of barrel samples from the super 2007 vintage. Those Vietti videos already posted include Barbera, 2006 Barolo and 2000 Barolo.
In this video, I tasted three barrel samples of Barolo as well as one recently bottled Barbaresco. I am a fan of 2007 and it could turn out to be as great as such years as 2001, 2000, 1997, or 1996. It certainly appears to be one of the best vintage of recent times for Nebbiolo. Check it out.

2007 Vietti Barolo Lazzarito: This is thick and chewy, balanced with everything you love in a Barolo. Barrel sample. 92-93 points.
2007 Vietti Barolo Rocche: On the nose, rose petals and dark fruits dominate. On the palate this is full and chewy with a long and polished finish. This is a gorgeous wine. Barrel sample. 94-95 points.
2007 Vietti Barolo Brunate: This is very "Brunate." Blueberries, cherries, minerals, and a floral character on the nose. On the palate this is classy, full, and super, super silky. Barrel sample. 96-97 points.
