Roberto Guerrini runs the family estate of Fuligni, consistently one of the top names in Brunello di Montalcino. I first met Robert in the early 1990s after tasting his amazing 1988 Brunello. I had to find out why he made such compelling reds, which always seem to have an amazing style of richness and depth yet elegance and finesse. It’s all about precision winemaking and viticulture at Fuligni.
I tasted 2006 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino with Robert a few weeks at his winery and I was again impressed with the beauty and strength of his red. I enjoyed the conversation when he compared his 2006 and 2001 Brunello to different composers.
