The Lalique & James Suckling 100 Points Collection

EVERYDAY LUXURY AT HOME

This is your chance to take your home dining experience to the next level.

Drink from glassware approved, used and designed by James Suckling himself. The 100 Points range is a hand-made collection that embraces a modern design and precise utility while exemplifying the established style of Lalique.

The collection was born in 2012 when the revered American wine critic and the famous French crystal house created the LALIQUE James Suckling 100 Points Universal Glass together to provide wine drinkers with something that was “as beautiful to look at and hold as it was functional to taste and drink from”.

For James, it was the realization of a dream. From that single “Universal glass”, the 100 Points collection has since grown to now include 15 designs, including a Burgundy glass, a Bordeaux Glass, a Champagne glass, a Cognac glass, a water glass, a shot glass, tumblers, decanters and even cork holders.

But it is the Universal glass that James is most pleased with. “It’s one glass for any wine whether it’s a fine first growth Bordeaux or a hearty nero d’avola from Sicily. I have tried the prototype with just about everything. It works, and it makes life easy,” added James.

“Just holding one of these glasses with its sensual stem and beautiful feel takes wine drinking to a new level.”

EXPLORE THE COLLECTION

Since launch, the Universal glass has appeared in a movie (Emmy-nominated filmmaker Victor Levin’s latest movie “5 to 7”, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival) and is the star of James Suckling Wine Central, Marie Kim-Suckling’s (James’ wife) popularHong Kong wine bar and restaurant. A centerpiece of the bar is a transparent wall made nearly entirely out of Universal glasses. All wines served in the bar are also served in the Universal glass.

“The Universal glass brings beauty back to wine drinking,” said James. “It offers functionality, yet it’s so beautiful. It enhances your wine pleasure through your eyes as well as your hands. The unique frosted rib stem harkens back to the art nouveau and art deco history of the crystal maker – the great man himself, René Lalique.”
