I drank a bottle of a 2003 Marcassin Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Marcassin Vineyard with James Orr, my colleague and film director, last night at the wonderful Thai restaurant in Las Vegas Lotus of Siam. I was impressed how the wine was still fresh despite its tendency to show a plum jam undertone. And it was delicious with a crispy duck with Panang sauce, as well as short ribs in another curry sauce with egg noodles. Here is my tasting note: Dried fruits with strawberries and blackberries on the nose turn to light plum jam. It’s full and velvety with delicious and juicy fruit. Very long and yummy. Still holding on beautifully. 93 points.
