Champagne Louis Roederer launched its new Philippe Starck fizz in Hong Kong at the Ritz Carlton last night, and the Champagne house was incredibly pleased with the wine. “We like the little hippiness of the project,” said Michel Janneau, the commercial director of Roederer. “We feel free with this.” He said they may make the Champagne again in 2009. It’s lots of fun and very dense and rich. “It’s not marketing,” he added. “We found this beautiful wine from the area of Cumiares, and it was delicious. So we bottled it and Starck liked it.”
