Mike D's Article: Salon Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs 1997

I title this review “Spring In A Glass Pt. Deux” because that is what this wine tastes and feels like. Straw but not pale, with microscopic bubbles. Yea that’s right, you fancy huh. Very light effervescence, almost not champagne, like a ginger ale left out over night. Lightly bubbly white Burgundy y’all. Lemony, pleasantly acidic, stone fruit, yet creamy and buttery on the finish. Light but powerful and complex. I give this ’97 97 points! Find the wine.

    mike d------------- sounds like a perfectly aged bottle of champagne. i love the bubbles with some age to them. the pop blows off and is replaced with a subtle, quiet sort of whispery soft and sexy mouth feel. even better if a bit of the acidity is still present to remind us that at one time she was a quite the partier. cheers.
