In this video, San Filippo's owner and winemaker Roberto Giannelli comments on the already legendary 2010 vintage in Montalcino. In 2012 during a visit to the estate, James tasted Roberto's 2010 from barrel. Roberto at the time confidently reported that "it is probably one of the finest in the history of Montalcino." The vintage’s prolonged growing season, which was translated in the grapes’ optimal ripeness, created wines of power with a great of backbone of acidity, sensibly combining power with elegance and freshness, creating a wine of unprecedented quality in the region.
