Spain: La Rioja – Marqués de Riscal's La Catedral

Marqués de Riscal started producing its first wines in 1860, just four years after it was founded. The winery is a symbol of the history of La Rioja, and its old vintages are still references for the longevity and finesse of old La Rioja. Today, the winery – which includes a state-of-the-art hotel designed by the world renowned architect Frank Gehry – also makes wine in Rueda and Castilla y León.

In this video, export and sales manager Javier Ybañez Creus explains what La Catedral is. Literally meaning “the cathedral,” La Catedral is Marqués de Riscal's wine library where they hold bottles from every vintage since 1862.
