In this video, Alessandro Ceretto, chief winemaker of the famous Piedmont estate Ceretto, describes his views of the 2010 vintage in Barolo. For Alessandro, it is so far one of the better vintages of the century. Taking into account that we are only in its 14th year, he is cautious enough to describe it as having all the right assets to become a legendary vintage. He believes that only time will tell if it’s of outstanding quality. The 2010 vintage is also a vintage that varies greatly throughout the different vineyards, but not "in terms of quality, in terms of expression," he concludes.
Alessandro has recently implemented biodynamic practices in his vineyards; this, he explains, has helped him further reveal the character of each of his four main vineyards: Prapò, Cannubi, Bricco Rocche and Brunate.
