Top 100 Wines of 2014: #2 – Penfolds Grange Bin 95 2010

Penfolds Shiraz South Australia Grange Bin 95 2010 made number two in JamesSuckling.com's Top 100 Wines of 2014.

The Australian icon is a blend of 96 percent shiraz with a dash of cabernet sauvignon from multiple vineyards located in the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Magill Estate. However, the Barossa Valley dominates the blend as Nick Stock pointed out in his tasting note. The wine sees 17 months of American oak in hogsheads, but as Nick explains, this is a wine with astonishing integrity; every piece that makes up the wine seems to stand out on its own while perfectly complementing eachother.

In this video, Simon Cant, Penfolds’ brand ambassador, comments on the 2010 vintage as well as on what for him is a perfect wine, and if this is the greatest Grange ever made.
