James continues his comprehensive tasting of Bruno Giacosa's Barbarescos and Barolos with the 2005 vintage. It's an excellent and underrated vintage by many Nebbiolo aficionados, and Giacosa's wines show extremely well, with the Barolo Rocche del Falletto receiving 95 points. It's interesting to note that Giacosa made the uncommon decision to not bottle his Barbarescos and Barolos in the 2006 vintage because he felt they were not up to his standards.
