In this Tasting Interview with Justine Tesseron, general manager of Napa Valley's Pym-Rae Tesseron Estate, James tastes and explores the varying personalities of the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Pym-Rae vintages. Justine describes the Pym-Rae style in three simple terms: precision, freshness and a touch of spices. She explains that the aging process for all three vintages is the same as the approach taken at the Tesseron family's estate in France, Château Pontet-Canet: one part (60 percent) in new French Oak and the second part (40 percent) in concrete tanks in order to retain the purity of the fruit.
Keep an eye out in the future for their special-edition case with all three vintages: Pym-Rae Napa Valley Tesseron Estate 2016; Pym-Rae Napa Valley Tesseron Estate 2017; and Pym-Rae Napa Valley Tesseron Estate 2018.
