We are great fans of Beaujolais and while in California earlier this year, James and Executive Editor Nick Stock decided to gather a few bottles to taste as a counterpoint to the local Napa wines dominating big days of tasting. James also tasted several in Hong Kong and, wherever we are, we always like to drink Beaujolais!
The 2018 vintage is a rich one, not as bold and weighty as 2015, but it has a lot of very attractive flesh and delivers plenty of wines for drinking now and many Cru wines that are capable of aging, if that’s your thing. The selection of producers here is a tight collection of the best and biggest names and we hope you enjoy reading about them as much as we did tasting them. These wines are just so drinkable which is something we are always looking for.
